Range description

Extremely versatile and moisture-resistant

Medium® Moisture Resistant V313 is a homogeneous panel made moisture resistant throughout during the manufacturing process by treating the wood fibres using a dry process with added resins. Machining, routing and perforation do not affect its moisture resistant classification.

Medium® Moisture Resistant Resistant V313 panels are slightly dark in color. They are intended to be used coated in areas where there is a risk of temporary exposure to moisture (service class 2 and risk class 1 and 2).

This extremely versatile panel has a high density surface and core. Made of a hardwood-based, short and homogeneous, wood fiber, it is characterized by:

  • a high core machinability
  • a maximization of the assembly qualities
  • a smooth and dense surface, fine texture, low porosity

Medium® Moisture Resistant V313 faces are particularly dense and offer a high quality surface for lacquering. The edges of the Medium panel have a low in absorbency, making them easy to finish.

Fields of application
Class 1 panel – Non-structural use in dry environments

Applications

  • Interior design and decoration, furniture, furnishings in humid environments
  • Interior finishing elements (skirting boards, mouldings, etc.), door elements, wall cladding
  • Kitchen, bathrooms (furniture and accessories)
  • Furniture for public buildings, industrial premises
  • Toys
  • Finishes

Panel sanded on both faces to a 180-grit smoothness, allowing the use of a complete range of finishes: lacquer, varnish, paint, melamine decorations, wood or metal veneer

Reminder: Medium® Moisture Resistant V313 can be used for purposes that are subject to temporary exposure to moisture.

Store away from water.
For storage and during installation and use, Medium® Moisture Resistant V313 must be properly protected from direct contact with water. It needs to be stacked flat and adequately joisted with appropriate spacing according to the thickness to avoid creeping.

An essential step for a great finish.
Medium® Moisture Resistant V313 has broad compatibility with all existing finishing and bonding products on the market. Its moisture resistant properties make the faces and fibers of the panel less absorbent than those of a Standard substrate.

Medium® Moisture Resistant V313 comes sanded to a 180-grit smoothness; slight dusting may be required before applying a light filler.

The edges will receive a penetrating pore filler insulation to block fibers and absorption. Water-based coatings are not recommended. Solvent-based coatings applied with a spray gun are preferred.

Medium® Moisture Resistant V313 eliminates the need for any filling/coating preparation: you apply a base coat (primer or undercoat) and then, after lightly sanding, paint both faces (glycerophthalic or acrylic paint). Do not use stain on Medium® Moisture Resistant V313.

Screwing Medium® Moisture Resistant V313 (with wood or particle board type screws) offers the best pull-out resistance. However, it is possible to nail or staple the panels faces in addition to gluing.

Any wood glue is suitable for Medium® Moisture Resistant V313!
Medium® Moisture Resistant V313 is compatible with adhesives suitable for moisture resistant panels (e.g. Vinylic D3) whether they are quick-setting vinyl adhesives, polychloroprenes, hot melt, urea-formaldehyde, polyurethane adhesives, etc. If Medium® Moisture Resistant V313 is to be bonded to another material, the adhesive must be selected according to the surface characteristics of both components.

When the panels are installed over large surfaces (wall cladding, floors, ceilings), provide sufficient expansion joints between the panels (2 to 3 mm).
